Play it safe: the Sentry system

Dear players,

It has come to our attention that several players already got their accounts hacked in WoM3. All of them had one thing in common: they did not activate the Sentry system.

If you have played in other private servers, or even if you did not (these days even big names like Twitter or Facebook get their user data leaked!), it's very likely that your passwords have been exposed at some point. So first rule of the internet user is: Make sure you use different passwords everywhere. This may sound annoying, but there are applications that will help you with this such as Dashlane or Lastpass.

These apps, however, will not work in WoM -they are designed for websites- so we developed our own security system, Sentry.

Sentry will send you a code by e-mail every time someone tries to login to your account from a new device, either on the website or the game. Entering the code will enable you to access it, and prevent hackers from doing so, even if they have your password! And believe me, there are databases leaked from hundreds of private servers in the hands of hackers who make a living out of stealing accounts. So play safe!

Users who have the Sentry system disabled will not receive any help if their account is stolen. You can enable it through the settings panel in https://wom3.org

It's important to note that the Sentry system depends on you having access to your own e-mail account so make sure that's protected as well. Gmail, Yahoo and similar services all provide 2FA in some form.
